Carefully Planned Festival

Quick blog of our highligths from Carefully Planned this weekend! We had a swell time despite the rain and were especially pleased to see so many women on this years bill.
Here are a couple of our highlights...

Halo Halo describe themselves as "dance-sinawi-pop", since I'd never heard of sinawi music before I did some searching and ended up in a (very much recommended) Youtube rabbit hole.

Brother-sister drum-bass noise duo, absolutely incredible to watch as they both seemed to be having an amazing time (as well as kicking up an almighty racket)! When we walked in their gig at Gullivers they were "channelling the spirit of Leo Sayer".

"ONSIND is a DIY, feminist, vegan, semi-acoustic pop punk band from Pity Me, Durham." They forgot "awesome".

Bands we missed but wish we'd got to see! September Girls, Bad Grammar, Big Joan

Typical Girls Night In at Fuel

Last Thursday was our first 'Night In' of female fronted folk / acoustic / soul music. Despite getting a last minute cancellation from one of the bands, the wonderful SEA stepped in and saved the day with just enough time to soundcheck!

Ruby Tingle performing her swampy ballads

We had an amazing time and raised loads of money for the Manchester Womens Aid! We sold out the upstairs room of Fuel so thanks a bunch to everyone who came down and sorry if you couldn't get in!

We will very likely be running some more of these nights at Fuel in the new year so keep your eyes peeled!
